Lennart van Schravendijk, and Annika and Emma Wijkhuisen, 9-year-old pupils of the Toermalijn primary school in Driehuis came up with a plan for a collection to support the work of the foundation. The call themselves \"APA Kids Team Driehuis\". They were keen to do something for people in need and were inspired by the work of APA Foundation. Lennart is a nephew of the founders of APA and three years ago, during a holiday in Indonesia, was able to visit the school where the foundation provided a playground and rebuilt the kamarmandi (toilet and washroom). That visit and his great social awareness prompted him and two friends to tell friends, family and teachers at school about the work of the foundation and to hold a collection. This also encouraged more of their friends. Their enthusiasm was so infectious that they even featured in the local newspaper. In February, the newspaper reported, complete with a photo, their successful activity and the presentation of the splendid sum of \u00ac166 that they had collected for APA Foundation. APA Foundation would like to thank \"APA Kids Team Driehuis\" very much for their splendid initiative and achievement and in due course will discuss with them which project to spend their donation on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
