Wayan is a young man, 20 years old. He is a polio patient and his right leg is shortened and not properly developed. He walks using crutches. Wayan is a woodworker and can earn some money in this way. He makes very attractive and detailed wooden decorations for houses and temples.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the past, he got orders locally, but currently there is little work for him. His main question to APA Foundation, therefore, was whether the foundation could help him into work. He prefers to live at home. Attempts to find him a job have not yet succeeded. There was also no space at a woodworking workshop in Panji where several handicapped people work, a few kilometres away. The business cannot currently afford to expand. Consequently, Wayan is participating in the retail project, which gives him a chance to be sponsored and get experience as a small entrepreneur. (see also retail project - IB 0405). He will make small wooden objects and jewellery which are attractive in design and price for tourists. In the future, he can consider making other items. APA Foundation has also placed an order for wooden stands for the menus for the Meal Project.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
