PROJECT Wheelchair transport to Bali, Indonesia
COSTS Not known
SPONSOR PZG

The Occupational Therapy department of the Sint Jacob health-care centre, Amsterdam has donated 12 second-hand Revab wheelchairs and accessories to the APA Foundation for its work in Bali, Indonesia. The wheelchairs will be stored there, available for distribution by APA Foundation mediators to people who have difficulty in walking and who cannot provide themselves with wheelchairs.

Initially, the offer made by ABX Logistics B.V. for the transport of the wheelchairs by sea to Bali appeared the best. The Foundation was later put in touch with PZG, Pilots Without Frontiers. This charity organizes the airfreight of ‘humanitarian goods with no political nature’ for development aid. PZG has undertaken to transport the wheelchairs to Indonesia and make sure that, in principle, there are no transport costs.
Originally, shipment by PZG to Java, Indonesia, was planned for February 2001. PZG is unable to take the goods to Bali. Unfortunately, that year APA Foundation was unable to arrange for the goods to be collected in Java for shipment by road to Bali. The shipment has been postponed indefinitely.

APA Foundation is very grateful for the promised assistance from PZG.
